ACC Roundup

In ACC games Wednesday night, UNC lost to Southern Cal, 74-59, and Clemson
beat Akron 66-59 to win the San Juan Shootout.

Why did UNC lose? Just looking at the box score, we'd say shooting had
a lot to do with it: they shot 37% from the floor and 52.2% from the line.
ESPN's stats have been pretty poor lately - they don't report turnovers or
minutes played for this game, for instance - but they report that USC had 17
steals.

John Eisenberg of the Baltimore Sun has
some comments
on Gary Williams' new contract, the timing of the
announcement, and Maryland's academic performance.

Speaking of the Terps, here's
an update on Maryland transfer Hassan Fofana
(use his name in the name game
song and you'll lose your mind) and a couple of other transfers who are starting
over in D.C. area schools.

Bomani Jones ran off a rant about coaches
to love and hate.
He says Duke is the least entertaining juggernaut he
can remember. What the hell does that mean? We're pretty
entertained. And we're sorry, based on their results, Krzyzewski has
clearly surpassed his mentor Bob Knight.

He also has comments on Matt Doherty, Gary Williams, and Mike Brey.
