ACC Roundup

In Saturday ACC action, Wake Forest routed Princeton (although the Tigers
cracked 30 this time) 61-42, Santa Clara lost to
UNC,
76-58, FSU beat Bowling
Green 71-60 (and moved to 6-1), and UVa lost to Gonzaga 80-69. The
Virginia Tech-Stanford game is going on as we write.

UVa did a very fine job at Gonzaga, actually, and led 63-59 with 9:01 to
go. Gonzaga took over from there, though, and pulled away. Sean
Singletary had a sensational game.
Jason Cain is putting together a
pretty good season so far as well.

Still, you have to give UVa a lot of credit for first of all playing at
Gonzaga, and secondly for a gutty performance. Nice job by a team playing
with something less than a full deck.

Last year's visit by UNC to Santa Clara was a disaster, as the Heels were
upset early, but also a blessing in disguise, because it certainly seemed to
focus them. They bucked the Broncos in the Dean Dome, winning 76-58.
