Rankings are always pretty stupid, and a lot of times upsets aren't exactly
upsets. Take the Wake-Florida game. Florida presses. So far this year,
Wake can't hang on to the ball. So the fact that Wake,
the higher rated team lost, is no big shock. In fact, had Wake won, it
would have been more of an upset, all things considered. The Deacs had 22
turnovers.
Virginia
is ready to kick off the season, warts and all, and they sound pretty
excited about the new direction of the program.
Maryland is hoping to get last
season's bad taste out of their mouth, and their seniors say they are ready
to make a change.
B.C. of course
is preparing for their inaugural run in the conference, and they generally
seem excited about it.
Georgia Tech got
two years probation (although not in basketball) from the NCAA for using 17 ineligible athletes.
Ol' Roy Willliams
has announced his starters, and it'll be Reshawn Terry, David Noel, Tyler
Hansbrough, Marcus Ginyard, and Bobby Frasor. It's a
young team with only minimal experience.
