Obviously the big news of the day is Dave McClure's status. While it
seems like just more of the same in this injury-plagued season, we won't know
how long he will be out until after the surgery, although Coach K said it would
probably be at least a few weeks.
And while everyone feels badly for McClure, of course, the good news is this:
Duke is basically trading Shavlik Randolph for McClure. Dave's going to be
a good player at Duke, but he's not going to be more important this year than
Randolph is. So from a team point of view, while it sucks (and most of all
for McClure, who is by all accounts a great kid), things are still looking up.
Best of luck to McClure with the surgery, and let's hope the damage is minor
and easily overcome.
