St. Philips Raffle of Duke vs. UNC Tickets

Duke vs. UNC tickets for only $25.00? In Cameron? Read on to find how
you can get two center court (Section 14, Row C) seats to the game.

St. Philips Episcopal Church in downtown Durham sponsors a dynamic youth
group, the Journey to Adulthood (J2A) - They spend a two-year period
together learning about their developing adulthood through a focus on
Self, Society, Sexuality, and Spirituality. As a culminating event of
this time together the group goes on a spiritual pilgrimage; a
life-changing experience for the teens. As past pilgrims can attest,
they will encounter real-life adventure, group bonding, and spiritual
reflection as they seek and find God in new ways. This pilgrimage
serves as both a celebration of their accomplishments and an opportunity
to sharpen the skills necessary to grow and live as adults. This year's
pilgrims will walk a 90 mile portion of the ages-old tradition of the
Way of St. James, on El Camino de Santiago, an historic pilgrimage in
Spain, which ends at the cathedral in Santiago de Compestela. To fund
J2A pilgrimages the church holds a silent and live auction every other

Your auction admission ticket provides you Sangria and Hors d'oeuvres,
child-care if needed, and the opportunity for a fun filled evening
bidding on auction items ranging from vacation trips, to art work by
nationally known artists, to gift certificates to local events and

This year the group received a donation of two tickets to the Duke-UNC
game on February 9. Rather than auctioning them, which only gives those
with deep pockets an opportunity to go to the game, the group is holding
a raffle for the tickets. There will only be 300 tickets printed and
they sell for $25.00 each. Your chances to win this pair of tickets is
one in three hundred. But you have a 100% chance to support a good
cause even if your ticket isn't drawn.

How do you get this opportunity? Two ways. Come to the auction and buy
your tickets there (if we still have any left by then!). Or tickets can
be purchased at the church office from February 1 through February 4
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Wednesday, February 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.,
or on Saturday, February 5 from 10 noon. If it is not possible
for you to get to the church office during any of these times, and you
are somewhat local (Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill), contact Allen
Murray at for arrangements on how to pick them up
during evening hours. While VISA and Mastercard can be used at the
auction, Raffle tickets can be purchased with cash or check only.

The drawing will be held at the Auction to be held at St. Philip's on
February 5. Should inclement weather force the auction to be postponed
the drawing will still be held on February 5 and the winner will be
notified by phone. You do not have to be present to win. If the winner
is not present at the drawing they will be notified by the number you
provide on the ticket stub. The winner is solely responsible for all
taxes and fees, and for being in compliance with all local and federal
laws, regulations and ordinances pertaining to the award, use, and
