We've received mail from a reader who is currently stationed in the Middle East at one of the support bases for our troops in Iraq. He includes this:
All that being said, I am thoroughly enjoying myself here, except for the fact that I am separated from family and friends until the middle of May. Everyone here including my troops always enjoy mail call and care packages. But since food is not a problem here, lots of people ask for DVDs. If you happen to want to contribute to the troops on this base, buy a previously viewed DVD at the video store, and send it over. I will make sure it gets donated to the growing base library video section.
So, we're going to start a collection! Drop us a line that you're sending us the DVD and we'll be collecting them at our West Coast Office for sending in a large care package. We'll send you the address in a response to your note to us.
We've been asked what DVD's are appropriate. I suspect recent releases, classics, comedy, etc. Definitely no pornography, as this is a violation of General Order #1.
Pledged so far:
- X-Files Season 2
- Doctor Strangelove
- The Last Samurai
- The Return of the King (full-screen)
