With the Centennial of Duke Basketball, it got us to thinking: what were the
Top Ten Moments in Duke's history? We're at a big handicap, since we
missed most of it. But we saw some of it! So here's our stab at a
list. #1 is reserved, as I'm sure you'll all agree, but the rest are in no
particular order.
- The Shot. We don't think anyone would argue that this was the high
point. - The Heyman-UNC fight. See Art Heyman take on the whole UNC team!
- Gene Banks' shot vs. UNC in his senior season.
- Jeff Capel's runner against UNC
- Grant Hill's dunk against Kansas in the '91 title game.
- Bruce Bell's senior moment
- Kenny Dennard's exuberant dunk against Villanova in 1978
- Phil Henderson's facial on Alonzo Mourning
- Johnny Dawkins last-second block on David Rivers to clinch a win over
Notre Dame. - Christian Laettner's last-second shot against UConn to put Duke back in
the Final Four.
