One of the best players in Duke history, Georgia Schweitzer, has decided
to retire from the WNBA. Georgia played for three seasons
and had her moments, but was not going to be a league superstar. Still,
she went from being a player who wasn't even ranked in the top 100 in high
school to being a 2-time ACC Player of the Year and Kodak All-American and
three-year professional, despite lacking blazing quickness. Georgia has
many options open to her, including medical school and coaching. She's
already made quite an impact at Duke as an assistant, with her knowledge
of the league being a big positive. I know that she'll be a success in
any and all future endeavors.
