First of all, we should say we're Liz Phair fans. She's definitely
shaken up the old boy's network in rock music and has some great songs.
Having said that, given the NCAAs recent jihad against sex in recruiting, and
the whole mess with Janet Jackson,
is using her music as the theme song for the Women's NCAA Tournament the
smartest move ever? We haven't heard this particular one, and
obviously the NCAA won't be using songs with lines like "I want to be your
**** *** queen (fill in the Monica yourself)," but she's a striking choice,
given the tenor of the times.
