Currently running around on a Wake Forest bulletin board is the report that one or more of the Duke players assaulted Wake students after the game yesterday. One would hope that this proves incorrect (either untrue, or an accident as a result of the Wake students mobbing the court) but if a Duke player did assault a Wake student unprovoked, we hope Coach K would firmly discipline that player. We've read about players being injured when fans rush the court, and can understand how someone may feel threatened. We recall when Ademola Okulaja allegedly similarly elbowed a Duke student after another Carolina loss in Cameron, and recall how bothered we were as Duke fans. We're confident that if there was an intentional assault, Coach K would discipline that player appropriately.
