Scooter Sherrill
has been corrected by A.D. Lee Fowler. After his crack that JJ Redick
"looked gay," Fowler called the comments "uncharacteristic and unfortunate,"
which is probably half true. In the athletic world, acceptance of gay life
is pretty limited, and unfortunately, Scooter's comments represent a much
broader mindset, and it's not limited to State or anything, either.
Despite his outlandish comments about J.J. Redick and gays, Sherrill
has emerged as a force on both ends of the court. His defense has
become really good, and he's getting a lot of attention for it, and deservedly
so. His defense would be more impressive, though, if he didn't let the
A.D. run interference for him.
