Caulton Tudor suggests today that Coach K should be held responsible for Shavlik Randolph's "failure" to live up to his press clippings and that he recruited him to keep State or UNC from getting him. What a load of malarkey.
The reason for his struggles is simple: it's his health, stupid. He played injured his freshman year, had a major surgery his sophomore year, and in his junior year, he has mono.
The suggestion that Duke recruited him so that State and UNC couldn't have him is beneath contempt. Everyone saw his potential, including, apparently, Tudor. You can't have it both ways.
What this reminds us of is a second-rate Peter Golenbock.
