MSNBC posted a bulletin early Monday morning that Christopher Reeve has died. Originally famous for his portrayal of Superman, Reeve became a real superman after he was paralyzed, when he began to do things which were believed to be scientifically impossible, like move his fingers and walk in water and feel below his neck. We found him to be incredibly inspirational, and truly believed he was going to make it back to walk again someday.
He had a tremendous amount of courage, and we deeply respect his buoyant personality and refusal to be cowed by anything. Odd that a man's struggle with such a terrible fate would rise above his considerable screen accomplishments, but maybe not when you consider how much courage he demonstrated.
