As you probably remember, we were big advocates of Ted Roof becoming the
permanent coach at Duke and were delighted when that happened. He has made
a very interesting hire, bringing
in David Kelly from Stanford, who will be associate head coach and wide receivers coach.
First: if Duke is hiring assistants away from Stanford, they're on the right
path. That would have been inconceivable a year ago. Second:
Kelly says some fairly stunning things about how he perceives Duke. If
Roof continues to draw people of this caliber, Duke will be in great shape. And
if his perception is correct, then Duke football is indeed reviving.
