Give Baylor credit: after the corruption of the University's ideals became
obvious and widely known, they
acted quickly and thoroughly, getting rid of coach Dave Bliss and Athletic
Director Tom Stanton, and self-imposing a two-year probation, including the Big
12 Tournament. Bliss acknowledged responsibility and said he wanted to
make things right. President Robert Sloan said more sanctions may be put in
place depending on what is discovered, and offered to allow any player who
wanted a transfer to go. From here it looks like a pretty impressive and
complete housecleaning. Kudos to Baylor for stepping up.
