As mentioned in another article, the big upset was Northern Illinois's 20-13 overtime win over Maryland. Maryland had been ranked. Don't count them out, though. they started last season 1-2, and finished 11-3.

In the other game, Brigham Young beat Georgia Tech 24-13 in Utah. Tech's not expected to have a good season this year, so there is no surprise in losing at altitude on the road.
