The spread of the virus mentioned yesterday is massive. Numerous infection attempts have resulted in us far exceeding our allocated bandwidth allowance. Normally, this would result in a surcharge to our colocation bill; because of the unpredictable nature of the virus, our colo facility has already indicated they will not use the data from yesterday and today to determine bandwidth usage.
It does mean that we are shutting down our mail server until the activity dies down. This will have some negative impact on our site. Most notable, bulletin board confirmation codes may be delayed. If your mail server does not accept the code immediately, our daemon will not be running to attempt to retry.
We hope this situation will clear itself up shortly, and service will return to normal.
