With the ACC pie about to be cut 11 ways instead of nine, you wonder if Clemson's
financial crisis might have caused them to vote differently on expansion,
had they known in time. Things are not looking good in Tiger Town,
folks. Suddenly the revenue projections, which may or may not be overly
optimistic, are pretty key down there. Since Clemson has, by their own
admission spent money they didn't have on facilities (read: arms race), they are
definitely in a jam.
It also nicely underscores the NCAA's recent contention that
big-time football and basketball don't necessarily pay off financially.
