The Ongoing Demise of US Basketball

The demise of US basketball continued yesterday, in Thessaloniki, when the United States junior team was crushed by Australia, 106-85. Because of the size of the defeat, the US lost the tiebreaker with Australia and Lithuania, and finished third in the quarterfinal group. The US next plays Slovenia in the consolation semifinal, a rematch of an 84-83 US win.

JJ Redick played, but was not a factor in the game, going 0-3 from the floor (2 shots from behind the arc) and 1-2 from the foul line in 8 minutes of action.

Here is more on the game.
