We didn't have time to link this Sunday, but former State star Clyde
"the Glide" Austin has
been arrested and charged with running a Ponzi scheme. He could soon
be doing time along with former teammate Hawkeye Whitney, who got a fairly long
sentence, if we remember correctly (and we can't find anything about it online),
for a drug crime.
Austin was involved in one of the great plays in ACC history, but on the wrong side: State had an upset of UNC locked up when Austin was stripped by UNC's Dudley Bradley, who flew downcourt and dunked as the clock expired. It was still one of the most unbelievable endings to an ACC game we've ever seen.
