Brittany Hunter is Ohio's Miss Basketball; Bales Third

There are big hoops happenings going on in the Ohio prep world. The
state that brought Duke Georgia Schweitzer and Rochelle Parent is about to
deliver outstanding post players Brittany Hunter and Alison Bales. The
two were co-Division I players of the year (along with a third player),
but Brittany has just had the honor of being named Miss Basketball for Ohio. The state is absolutely
jam-packed with incredible talent this year, with players like Brandie
Hoskins, Jessica Davenport, Stephanie Blanton, Amber Bland and Siedah
Williams all going to major programs next year.

Hunter and Bales' individual success has translated into team success.
The two teams will meet in the state Division I final four, Friday at
6:00pm. Here's a breakdown of Bales' Beavercreek and Hunter's Brookhaven
squads. The two teams actually met earlier this year, with Beavercreek
prevailing narrowly. Hunter had trouble getting her shot off against
Bales in the early going, but foul trouble for Alison allowed Brittany to
almost bring them all the way back. This should be a tremendous matchup
for the future teammates. Congratulations to both on their spectacular
high school careers and good wishes for their future success at Duke.
