The ACC has announced the top ten male and femlate athletes of the first fifty years, and Michael Jordan edged out David Thompson, which can't be right if the award is based on college results. Thompson had an amazing career, losing only one game his sophomore and junior years, and if we're not mistaken, was ACC player of the year three years running.
As a matter of fact, when you get right down to it, Tim Duncan had a more imposing college career than Jordan. Don't get us wrong, he was a superb college basketball player, but the best ACC career ever? No way.
In an impressive accomplishment, Alana Beard is the only active athlete named to either the men's or women's list. Go, Alana!
