Today marks the
final game of the season and also, possibly, the final game Ted Roof
will coach. We hope not. He's been very impressive. He took a
miserable situation and reversed it almost immediately. He's been quite
clever in adjusting for opponents, and given Duke a dose of passion for the
first time in a long while. He has no guarantees of course, but the
players want him to stay on. The best way to make that happen is to
substantially whip UNC.
Incidentally, for what it's worth, we hear that Roof's recruits committed
with the idea that they'd be playing for him. There's no guarantee that
anyone will come if he is no longer here. It's a big decision for Duke to
make, and one they seem determined to do correctly. We're just hoping that Ted
Roof gets a shot, because he's done a great job thus far.
