We count Gregg Doyel as a friend and a friend of the site, so we feel a bit
bad saying this, but his predictions lately have been kind of off the deep
end. First, he picked Gonzaga as the #1 team in the nation, a prediction
which St. Joe's made look foolish in the first game. Don't get us wrong,
upsets happen and St. Joe's is a quality team, but they aren't going to be
knocking off UConn anytime soon. He follows that with predicting
Rice to be the WAC's rep for the NCAA, and a sixth man to be the WAC's Player of
the Year. A reach? We'd say so. But hey, he seems to be having
fun in his new gig, and mixing things up, so good for him.
