Here it is, Wednesday already, and time for another exhibition game. Tonight's
game is against Nike Elite, a collection of former college players coached
by Bill Frieder, who most famously left Michigan six games before they won the
national championship. It's nice to see he's found something to do, but
odds are he's coaching this team because he's a mediocre coach, though he has an
excellent business mind (he basically foresaw the advent of K-Mart and the
explosion in credit services as a graduate student), and is also a first-rate
card counter and therefore banned in most casinos. This team has already
lost to Tech and Clemson, and will play UNC on Thursday.
