We've received mail from some of our readers about the flags that have been appearing on the front page, in celebration of the World Cup. While it is true that we are a Duke Basketball Site, that does not mean we eschew other sports. We have our own section on Duke Football, and we support all Duke athletics.
Let's be honest. The three of us are sports fans.
The World Cup is a great festival of soccer, one of the two most popular sports in the world. (Basketball is the other, in case you missed the NBA Draft!) We enjoy seeing people from different cultures meeting on the playing field in sport. If nothing else, it certainly beats shooting at each other.
Another point that we occasionally mention: We are truly an international site. So far this year, we've received hits from 104 countries world-wide. The reach of Duke Basketball truly amazes us. We've decided to put up the flag of every country that has visited us so far this year.
