The following is a list of players who have Duke on their list of potential
college destinations. Duke is of course only graduating two players in
2003, so it's unlikely that the Devils will pick up more than two or three
new scholarships. If Duke is considered to be a leader for a player,
this is noted, as well as if other schools are in the lead. Obviously,
all of this can change rather quickly and I will update the list from time
to time. It's safe to say that Duke will be trying to get a slashing
guard type and/or a post player. Note that some of the links overlap due
to mention of several players in one article.
For reference, ASGR is the All-Star Girls' Report and Blue Star is another
girls' basketball recruiting service. At times, their rankings differ
sharply so bear that in mind. OGBM is Ohio Girls' Basketball Magazine,
which is especially relevant this year with so many good prospects from
that state. Please note that all information has been culled from assorted
sites across the web; I have had no contact with the players themselves
nor do I rank them, nor do I assess their potential importance to the
program. Special thanks to Barry Uhrman for suggestions and advice, and
to Sybil Marshall, for her fantastic web page that gave me the start for a lot of
this stuff. Rankings, stats and links are presented where available.
