ACC Roundup

Not too much to report as we are seeing the last warmups before the ACC season starts in earnest. In Tucson, Florida State turned it around to beat Davidson 82-66 in the consolation game of the Fiesta Bowl Classic. Leading the Noles was Tim Pickett, who scored 32 points with 11 rebounds.

In Charlottesville, Virginia dispatched Liberty, 77-58.

Today's only game is Coastal Carolina at Clemson, and features the return of Tomas Nagys, suspended for 8 games for phoning home using a university access code. Naughty, naughty Tomas! No biscuit! Of course, Clemson's subsequent game will be when they host Duke in the rebuilt Littlejohn.

Finally, a closing mention on the complaints by West Virginia fans about the Virginia band: Get a life! The Virginia band does that kind of thing, laugh with them at the stereotypes. It's part of the pagentry of college football. There's nothing more boring than the same old heavy brass marching bands, all looking alike, all playing the same music, all doing the same show. Revel in the originality.
