ACC Roundup

In
ACC news, in tonight's only game,
UNC
is playing Jim Valvano's old
team,

Iona, in the Garden in the ECAC Holiday
Festival. To a large extent, it's a marketing game, a way to
talk to
recruits in the New York/New Jersey area, a traditional strong spot for
UNC
recruiting. But as great as New York is basketball-wise, we'd
recruit D.C.
and Detroit first. Those places are amazingly rich.
Here's
more from the
Times.

For the Heels,
depth
is a season-long
issue.

Under Skip
Prosser,
Wake
Forest is pounding the boards with
abandon.

We're very impressed that
they're undefeated. This is a very young team, supposedly
rebuilding. It's a significant
accomplishment.

Andrew Jones of the Wilmington Star News has his take on the coming season, and the Lexington Herald-Leader has reprinted the LA Times on conference play.
