Cawood Ledford died this morning of cancer at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Cawood was the voice of Kentucky Basketball from 1953 until 1992, and was generally recognized as among the best sports announcers. His last Kentucky game was Duke's 104-103 win in the East Regional, that is considered by many to be the best basketball game ever. After the win, Coach K took time from his celebration to congratulate Cawood for his career and praise the Kentucky program.
Our best wishes are extended to the Ledford family and the Kentucky sports family.
