Alana Beard and the US Junior World team fell to the home-standing
Czech Republic 92-88 on Saturday. Alana had 20 points, 3 rebounds, 3
steals and 3 assists, but the Czechs dominated the US off the dribble.
The Czechs fouled out Diani Taurasi, Loree Moore and Cappie Pondexter on
their way to the tight win. The US will play a very tough Australian
team for the Bronze medal on Sunday.
The Charlotte Observer also has a nice article up on
the experience of playing overseas.
