Here's a sad little
column about Len Bias and his death. We still can't believe how long it's
been. The writer remembers that phenomenal play vs. UNC, when Bias hit a
J, then stole the inbounds and dunked backwards. The world was truly his
oyster. Someone - Bob Knight we think - said he had Michael Jordan type
talent. It's still one of the saddest things we can remember. Actually,
our lasting memory of that trauma was seeing Johnny Dawkins on TV, shooting
through tears, over and over, and saying only that he thought Len Bias was
indestructible.
