Steve Politi, who of course used to write for the N&O, has
an interesting article up today about websites and recruits. As you may
remember, we researched this issue and found out that it is potentially
really stupid for a site like ours to talk to recruits, since we qualify as a
booster site. Russ Blake of rivalhoops.com says it's a disaster waiting to
happen for some unsuspecting school, and Tom Konchalski says that players are
committing early in part to get the web guys off their back.
One minor point: he mentions dbr and uncbasketball.com as successful sites
and then says we get thousands of hits per day. We get six figure page views
pretty much every day, and have gone as high as 1,000,000.
