The US Junior World Championship team won the Invitational Tournament in
Washington DC, whipping Brazil 90-67. Alana Beard had 19 points to
continue her very steady performance in the tournament, and also added 6
rebounds and 3 assists. Future teammates Monique Curry & Wynter Whitley
had 5 and 3 points, respectively. This tournament was a warm-up for the
actual championship, which will be held in the Czech Republic on July
14-22. China, Japan and Brazil will also be there.
