This one is by Scott Fowler of The Charlotte Observer. He notes the recent comments of dad Kenny Randolph that his son will have to consider the NBA draft. Fowler concludes that Randolph should probably go pro if he's projected to be a Top-10 pick.
Obviously the money is hugely tempting, but, as we are sure the Randolphs are asking themselves and as we hope (naively, perhaps) the parents of other high school phenoms are as well, are these kids not only physically but emotionally ready for life in the NBA with its travel, temptations, gold-laden entourages, and, well, freaks of society? Even with all the money, there's a brutal side to it for someone with a fragile innocence.
