Al Featherston has a great column up today asking, What's all the hype about the NBA draft? As he often does, he makes outstanding use of statistics to prove his point that, more often than not, high draft picks end up becoming stars for teams other than the ones who drafted them. He also makes note of the "bozos who fall for the 'Stay in School'" - those players who hurt themselves by going to college and exposing their weaknesses. Featherston refers to Ken Burgess' comments that Chris was a lottery pick coming out of high school but couldn't get drafted by the CBA when he transferred - right concept, wrong target.
