Breeden To Be Named New Fuqua Dean

In a story to break later today, Duke President Nan Keohane has selected Doug Breeden as the new Dean of the Fuqua School of Business, succeeding Rex Adams. Breeden served for many years on the faculty of Fuqua teaching a hugely popular course on financial derivatives and options. A year ago, he joined the faculty of the Kenan-Flagler at UNC as the Dalton McMichael Professor of Finance. He founded Smith/Breeden, the Chapel Hill-based firm which specializes in interest rate management for savings and loans and other financial institutions. Doug was selected from a pool of over 200 candidates.

We know Doug and, with his combination of academic and business backgrounds, can't think of a finer choice. Plus, he's one of the nicest guys you could ever meet (and a huge Duke fan!). Congratulations, Doug!
