Making Book On Teens

An interesting bit of news from down Rivals way: apparently
a Rivals web site was posting odds on high school games.
Ha! To us
that seems like an exceptionally bad idea. On the other hand, though,
since gambling is now such an established part of American life (if you don't
think so, read up on what the Nevada Congressional delegation and the
gaming lobby thinks of N.C. Senator John Edward's efforts to ban college
betting), and high school sports have been pretty well corrupted, at least when
major talent is involved, it's hard to see how things could be worse because a
web site runs a cheesy point spread. Still, it's good of them to yank it.
