The argument over sweatshops and how to deal with them continues. First we
had the Students Against Sweatshops, which started in the Triangle, and then in
short order the FLA and the WRC. Now a group of economists is saying
the whole thing was poorly thought out, and in fact could hurt the workers
everyone would like to help, but the director of operations for Duke stores says
the whole thing by the economists is a scam to help the SA8000 and to fund
various auditing firms which stand behind it with hands outstretched.
