It's almost as if Knight wanted this to happen sooner rather than later. What is the terrible offense about a kid saying, "Hey, what's up, Knight?" That sent him into hysterics? How can a 59-year-old man in a zero-tolerance situation not walk away from that? It will be hard to convince me that on a subconscious level Knight isn't relieved that it's over before it even started. Clearly, the deck was stacked against Knight. Zero tolerance didn't give him the behavioral latitude that an average person has. Knight would have far more rights in a court of law than he had been afforded at Indiana since May. And this stinks. It is a cheap, crummy way for Knight to go out, ripe with the smell of agent provocateur, considering the identities of the people involved. Undoubtedly, that's why the sanctimonious Brand ticked off a list of toothless "incidents" he said illustrated Knight's alleged refusal to adhere to Indiana's new rules: to build a fuller case against Knight than just this one dubious incident.
