We're watching CNNSI news and they are reporting that Bob
Knight has been fired. This is a seismic shapeup on a number of
levels. First, obviously, an institution is gone from Indiana and the face
of college basketball has changed. Secondly, a major job has opened up, very
late for a job change. Third, a number of players have promised to leave if
Knight leaves. And fourth, where to from here? Billy Reed of CNNSI says that he
will coach again. The question is where, and when. ESPN is reporting that a
press conference is scheduled for 4:15 this afternoon, and that his players
have already been informed.
