PAC 10 Tries Again

The
PAC-10 is about to try a tourney again.
They had one previously, but it
failed, both in the stands and at the bank. How will it do this time? Hard
to tell. The PAC-10 has a geographical problem first of all, with schools
flying in from Washington to Arizona. The Washington trip is hated by the
Arizona schools and vice-versa.

Secondly, they have the eternal problem of a) having to put the tournament in
California, and b) having to compete for attention with everthing else that
happens there. If LA can't even hang on the the NFL, it's hard to see the PAC-10
making a big dent. Here's one suggestion: try it in Portland. The odds of
being the center of attention go up radically.
