Ilia Evtimov, Vasco's little brother, made a big impression on us this
summer. It's not that he's a great player; he's good but not great. But he's
gutty. He took on Eddy Curry and didn't back down, and played a
hard-nosed, tough game. So we were sorry to see that he
won't be allowed to play at R.J. Reynolds this season because of a
regulation governing international students which limits them to 12 months at a
public high school.
He'll be transferring to a private school. We'd encourage coaches to take a
good look at this kid. He's probably not talented enough for the highest level,
but he's got some cajones.
