Indiana has reversed course and has decided, after all, to
investigate Chris Lawson's further allegations of abuse. University
spokesman/lackey Christopher Simpson, who we first noticed when he said that IU
President Brand and Knight absolutely did not meet the Saturday before the
Sunday board of trustees meeting, only to turn around and say, well, yes they
did meet and had a fine meeting, after all, then turned around and said, of the
current issue, that "I'm amazed that the media continues this direction with these sensational stories, day after day after day after day."
Now, though, he says that "[t]he concern we had is that we were probably putting an unnecessary amount of emphasis on relying on
news media accounts...Based on what we learned from the media reports it didn't seem productive at the time to pursue it any further."
