Every so often in North Carolina you hear a buzz about a kid from a small
town. Sometimes it's not right, like Alvis Rogers, who never really panned out.
Sometimes though it is, and you start to hear whispers about a Phil Ford, a
David Thompson, a Buck Williams, a Dominique Wilkins or a James Worthy.
Right now
the buzz is about Maurice Petty, a kid from Boiling Springs, and he's
being compared to David Thompson - as a matter of fact, Thompson himself wants
to go see him play.
He's 15, 6-4, 195, chiseled, according to the Charlotte Observer, and oozing
with potential.
