Georgia Tech pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the year in upsetting
Kentucky. Tech, picked for either last or next to last in the ACC, now
has wins over tradtional powers UCLA and Kentucky. It's easy - and accurate - to
argue that both teams are down, but it's also true to say that at the beginning
of the season, no one expected Tech to stay in a game with either team.
And if you had said that at this juncture Tech would be 5-2 and Kentucky would
be 3-4, well, who would have believed that? This adds enormous credibility to Paul Hewitt's rebuilding efforts at Tech - and should also put the rest of the conference on notice. These guys can be dangerous.
