We certainly want to extend best wishes to Duke grad and former Maryland
coach Lefty (A kin coach!) Driesell, who
is recovering from surgery for bone spurs in his neck. Long a pain in the
neck for the rest of the basketball world, perhaps karma has caught up with the
Lefthander.
Just kidding Lefty. Best of luck and get better soon.
Incidentally, having signed a 3 year contract extension at Georgia State,
Lefty is within hollering distance of Dean Smith's career record at 740 wins. At
almost 20 wins a year over the last three years, that would put him at 800 in 3
years. Our guess is that if Georgia State will let him stick around long enough,
he'd love to take that away from Dean.
