Some Sister School Updates

Looks
like Seton Hall is gearing up for a big season.
Tommy Amaker started three
freshmen and they all did well, particularly one of our very favorite players
anywhere, Andre "Mighty Mouse" Barrett. Check out his line: "He was 8-of-9 from the floor, 5-of-5 on 3-pointers, and finished with 21 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and a steal in 27
minutes," according to the Star-Ledger. No word on turnovers, but
still, that's amazing for a freshman point guard, and six boards for a 5-8 guy
just points out how smart this kid is. He's going to blow some minds this
season.

We want to revisit one point on Barrett though: we had said privately at the
All-Star game in Raleigh that Barrett looked like a better player than Duhon.
Duhon didn't control the ball as much as Barrett did, and therefore he looked
much better. After having seen more of Duhon, we'd say they are just about
even. Chris is just as fast, just as smart, and is 5 inches taller. Toss
in Omar Cook and this year's freshmen guards are pretty brilliant.

Out in Missouri, Quin's kids won
their exhibition game against Team Fokus.
Quin has
a new assistant this season w
ho was freshman Robert Whaley's older brother,
more or less. However, as we all know, that's not illegal though it rubs
people the wrong way. But the guy is a legitimate coach. It's not like he
was, oh, driving a truck in his last job like Ed Manning. Quin says he
fits in well. Robert Whaley and Jeff Ferguson both came from troubled
backgrounds and lived with the Harvey's for a time. Pretty clearly, both
kids are at risk, but it seems that they feel gratetul to Mr. Harvey, as do
their mothers.
