The latest conference to find that
it grew too big and unwieldy is the PacWest. Having taken in 16
schools, 10 are pulling out and starting over. Six are staying. This is,
if we remember, the third conference to so implode. For everyone arguing
for expansion, just food for thought. The Southern Conference used to be 26 teams, if we remember correctly. Sometimes bigger isn't necessarily better.
