Former Northwestern coach Ricky Byrdsong was shot seven times
in the back last
night while jogging and was in surgery as of 2 AM EST, according to radio
reports. Sadly, his son was with him at the time. This morning we
get the sad news that he has died. Apparently a guy drove around
Chicagoland last night on a shooting spree, shooting people whose
ethnicity disagreed with him: he also shot six Orthodox Jews, all of whom
have so far survived, and also shot at
two Asians, though, thankfully, he missed them at least.
